Dr Hans-Jürg Schürmann's main professional focus is on commercial matters. He acts as legal advisor primarily to industrial and trading businesses and their shareholders respectively. His broad experience serves him well when acting as a member and chairman of the Boards of a number of Swiss and foreign-based companies and non-profit foundations. In addition to his activities as a legal advisor Hans-Jürg Schürmann handles complex commercial litigations and arbitral proceedings, the latter often as arbitrator.
Hans-Jürg Schürmann has graduated from the University of Zurich in 1968 and completed his postgraduate studies at the same University in 1970 (Doctor of Laws). He was admitted to the bar in 1972 and working thereafter for Baker & McKenzie in Zurich and Chicago until 1978. In 1979 he founded, together with Prof. H. Rausch, his own law firm (since 1998 Schürmann und Partner), whose Senior Partner he was until the end of 2008. Since January 2009 Hans-Jürg Schürmann is a partner of our company. |
