Marquard Christen, LL.M.

Marquard Christen specializes in competition law. He advises foreign and Swiss companies in proceedings before the Swiss competition authorities and on general Swiss and European competition law issues. He also assists clients in the development and implementation of competition law compliance programs. Other practice areas of Marquard Christen include contract and corporate law as well as commercial litigation and arbitration. In addition, he has a particular interest in issues related to human rights law.

Marquard Christen joined CMS von Erlach Henrici Ltd. as a trainee attorney in 2001 and continued working for CMS as an associate after having been admitted to the bar in 2003.

Marquard Christen has graduated summa cum laude from the University of Fribourg in 2000. During his studies he spent one year at the University of Leuven, Belgium, where he focused on the law of the European Union. He also completed post-graduate studies in international law at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia (LL.M.) and at the Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Geneva (Master of Applied Studies, LL.M.). From 2009 to 2010 he worked as a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) before returning to CMS von Erlach Henrici Ltd. in 2011.
